Booktrack Classroom is a versatile tool that my students can use to enhance reading and writing instruction. By listening to layers of sound, music, and ambient noise embedded in a story, my students, who always seem to have headphones on, can better comprehend what they are reading and become more comfortable with the writing process. By getting my reluctant readers and writers to think in terms of sound instead of words, I can tap into their auditory strengths and give them a connection to the texts. If they can hear their ideas, then it will be easier to write their ideas down.
Booktrack Classroom provides a safe and enclosed space for reading and publishing student writing. Creating a class and adding students is quick and easy. Once students activate their account, I can assign texts to read that already have the layers of sound embedded or I can have them create their own Booktracks.
